Six derbies will take place in this weekend’s Ghana Premier League match day 28 fixtures across the country.
The biggest derby game will see league leaders Hearts of Oak clash with Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Ga mashie derby.
The game will be highly contested as the two sides are in a race for the Ghana Premier League title.
Great Olympics coach Annor Walker has promised to beat Hearts of Oak on Sunday to close the gap on the league table.
“We will plan well for Hearts of Oak and ensure we beat them home and away. I will ensure we beat them so we close the gap between them and ourselves. At the end of 90 minutes, we will beat them”.
Great Olympics will miss the services of talisman Gladson Awako and Samuel Abbey Quarshie who are currently on national duty.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have been in good form heading into this game against their regional rivals.
The Phobians are unbeaten in their last six games and will be going into the game with a lot of confidence.
Hearts have opened a five point lead against Great Olympics who are third on the league table.
The result ended 2-0 in favor of Great Olympics when the two sides met in the first round.
Elsewhere, Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold SC will lock horns at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in the Ashanti derby.
The Porcupine Warriors are in a race for the league title and must win the game to close in on Hearts of Oak.
AshGold will be hoping to return to winning ways after losing to Legon Cities at home last weekend. The miners are currently 10th on the league table and another defeat to their rivals could spell doom for the management.
