Rejuvenated Accra Great Olympics will host Accra Hearts of Oak SC on Sunday.

Your authoritative online portal Ghanasportspage.com , brings to you preview of the titanic encounter scheduled for this weekend. Having Accra Hearts of Oak SC take all the bragging right in the league especially in the second round, the Oly Dade Boys have also got something Hearts of Oak SC do not have.

Accra Hearts of Oak SC last week (Match Day 27) recorded an enviable 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea FC at home to increase their winning streak to five. Goals from Obeng Junior and Benjamin Efutu sealed the win.

Prior to the game against the former Ghana Premier League Champions, Hearts of Oak SC had already chalked success in their four previous games; four wins in a row having beaten Techiman Eleven Wonders 1-0, Elmina Sharks 3-0, Bechem United 2-0 and Kumasi King Faisal 2-0.

The Phobias have come under reformation with the arrival of head coach Samuel Boadu from Medeama SC. He’s currently the back bone of the Ghana Premier League giant’s having seen off Coach Edward Nii Odoom and Kosta Papic earlier.

Talking of Hearts of Oak SC, they are counting on the best of their midfielder Benjamin Efutu when serging forward to offer them more of attacking prowess and assured of Caleb Amankwah disciplinary acts to control the backline with Mohammed Alhassan. On the laterals, they can boast of having the best left-back in the Ghana Premier League currently, Raddy Ovouka from Congo who offers them attacking options when with the ball and comfortable without the ball considering his level of defensive awareness.

Players to watch from Hearts of Oak SC camp; Isaac Mensah, the Super sub. He joined from Nkoranza Warriors SC early this season and has become the talisman they have being looking for, work rate has been stupendous since he joined.

He is as dangerous as petrol when he starts or climb from the bench. Another player who has alot to offer on any day is Obeng Junior, the deadly being of Hearts of Oak SC. He loves to press and mount pressure on his opponents backline with or without the ball.

Obeng Junior has involved in all
Hearts of Oak SC last five goals scored in the Premier League. Salifu Ibrahim is also one of a deadly being who joined the Phobias from Premier League side Techiman Eleven Wonders.

He’s the dragging force of the Rainbows. Salifu has won three Man of The Match awards since joining them in the second transfer window and that, should tell you of his qualities and what he brings to the Phobians team.

On the other hand, Great Olympics has much to also offer having exhibited a top class performance from the start of the season. Their trainer Annor Walker undoubtedly is the best Coach in the topflight, according to top Sports pundit.

He has so far, justified why the Oly Dade Boys deserve to trade in the Ghana Premier League despite having in his camp average class performers. With the likes of Abdul Mudasiru, Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Samuel Ashie Quaye Olympics rock shoulders with the big boys on any day.

In the first round, Great Olympics beat Hearts of Oak SC 2-0, dispatched Asante Kotoko SC, Ashanti Gold SC and even stun Inter Allies FC with Liberty Professionals. The side placed top of the league table twice before dropping to their current position.

Ahead of their encounter with Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Olympics went to pick a point from Aiyinase when they faced Karela United FC after conceding an early goal through a penalty. They rallied behind for a 1-1 draw at the CAM park.

Olympics beat Aduana Stars 1-0 and silenced Sogakope based outfit WAFA 3-2 to ensure they continue what they started.

The ‘Land Lords’ has one of the genius midfielders in the Premier League, Gladson Awako. Always shielding him is James Akaminko who sits dip infront of the defense line. Awako undoubtedly is the best combat midfielder currently in the league always serving as the pivot of Annor Walker side against giant’s.

His performance has earned him a call-up to the Black Stars, exhibiting his vase experience when it comes to midfield play.

The Quaye brothers who are full of surprises also has all that it takes to make the Ga Mashie Derby theirs having being defenders nightmare with their brilliant foot works. Maxwell Quaye and Samuel Ashie Quaye have all earned a call up to the Ghana U-23 team.

The game which is expected to be a historic one will be played on Sunday at exactly 6:00 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Currently, Hearts of Oak SC sit top of the league log with 49 points after 27 league games with Great Olympics 3rd having accumulated 34 points.

A win on Sunday for Hearts of Oak SC will have them stretch the cap intervals between them and their arch rivals Asante Kotoko SC(47 points) which will also propel them to ending their 11-years trophy drought. A defeat to Hearts of Oak SC will also mean, Great Olympics will catch up with the points which will open way for any of the top four clubs to win the league title.
