The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Akuffo-Addo has asked the Ghana Football Association in a matter of no time begin nationality switch of English born Ghanaian Callum Hudson Odoi.
The sensational winger who recently won the UEFA Champions league with English giant’s Chelsea FC on Monday visited the President of the West African Country at the Flagstaff House.
At the meeting, which had the Sports Minister Hon. Mustapha Ussif in attendance, His Excellency have asked the football authorities to convince the English star to switch nationality and play for Ghana.
Hudson-Odoi, whose father is a former Ghana international and a Hearts of Oak star Bismark Odoi, can switch nationality to play for the Black Stars despite playing for the England national team in recent times.
“On Monday, 7th June 2021, Ghanaian-born Chelsea footballer, Callum Hudson-Odoi, paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House, the seat of our nation’s presidency,” President Akufo-Addo wrote on Monday night.
“Amongst others, I urged the Minister for Youth and Sports to explore the possibility of having Callum switch nationality, and play for the Black Stars.”
