Legon Cities’ MTN FA Cup round of 32 fixture against Division One side Phar Rangers has been called-off, the Premier League club has confirmed.
The Royals were scheduled to host the lower-tier club at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, June 19, 2021, but it has been called off due to Rangers’ pending case before the GFA Disciplinary Committee.
“Hello Royals, please be informed that our MTN FA Cup game against Phar Rangers would NOT come on as planned at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. This is due to a pending misconduct case before the GFA Disciplinary Committee against our opponents, herein being Phar Rangers” a statement from Legon Cities read.
After writing officially to inform the GFA that the Club is withdrawing from all ongoing competitions and as such be considered as defunct, Phar Rangers were charged by the Prosecutor and referred to the Disciplinary Committee for adjudication.
The GFA is currently awaiting the decision of the Disciplinary Committee on Phar Rangers’ charges hence the decision to put their match on hold.
