Editor in Chief of Asante Kotoko SC Express, Jerome Otchere has hit hard on the Ghana Premier League Committee following Accra Hearts of Oak decision to have their game postponed for a case of fair play.
The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak SC hours ago, wrote to the Ghana Football Association seeking to change the game time involving their match day 30 clash against Legon Cities on Thursday.
Hearts of Oak SC believe their arch rivals Asante Kotoko SC will have an advantage over them since they are both scheduled for a local derby on Sunday. In the letter, Hearts of Oak SC stated that; “
“We strongly believe that for the sake of bringing back the love and purposes of fair play which is the mantra of the game, we wish that our game against Legon Cities should be postponed to give us equal time schedule with Kotoko to prepare for the big game against Asante Kotoko SC on Sunday”, statement from the club reads.
“With Kotoko playing on Wednesday afternoon, they will have 72-hour rest period ahead of our clash whilst we will have 42-hour rest period if we should play on Thursday. This will generate unnecessary reaction pressure from our Supporters and this has the tendencies of taking the shines away from the match”.
Jerome Otchere who is a seasoned sports analyst and Editor for Myfabulousonline.com believe the Ghana Premier League is poorly managed asuch, the fixtures are planned poorly.
Valid concern on matches being played simultaneously at this stage but inadequate rest for the Super Clash? @HeartsOfOakGH seemingly fretting over that but whose fault is it? Questions to have to be asked of the GFA on how our fixtures are planned. I’ve always said it’s poor. https://t.co/TSCQIMXUjZ
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak SC request has been rejected by the Association.
