Asante Kotoko National Circles Council (NCC) Public Relations Officer, Alexander Osei Owusu believes center referee Daniel Laryea assigned for their Ghana Premier League super clash against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday does not have the integrity to handle the match.
The Referees Appointment Committee of the Ghana Football Association on Thursday announced match officials for the Ghana Premier League matchweek 31 fixtures.
In the appointments, referee Daniel Laryea who is arguably the best referee in the domestic league was handled the tough match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
Hearts of Oak clash against Asante Kotoko SC will by far be Daniel Laryea’s toughest game officiated this season after a shambolic game between Asante Kotoko SC and Ashanti Gold SC in Obuasi.
He handled games of Eleven Wonders FC and Dreams FC after his assignment in the Africa Inter-Club competition.
However, the NCC PRO wants him to be changed having considered his past officiating involving Asante Kotoko SC, saying he is not fair in his line of duty.
Alexander added that, it’s unfair for the appointment Committee to appoint an Accra based match official for such an encounter which he thinks their opponent can influence him.
“After assessing series of matches he has officiated involving both Hearts and Kotoko, we are not convinced about his performance”, Alexander told Kumasi based radio, Oyerepa FM.
“He’s always not fair nor balanced, so we will appeal to the GFA to withdraw Referee Daniel Laryea from officiating this game, we want them to change him”, he demanded.
