Ex-Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has backed Samuel Boadu to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League coach of the season award.
Badu, who is capped 78 times by Ghana, is a known Asante Kotoko fan but he has now declared his head coach of their rival club as the best coach in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
The 35-year old tactician has played 14 matches in the League, with 10 wins, two draws and just two losses.
The former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Badu, in an interview with Skyy FM hailed Samuel Boadu and his assistant, Hamza Mohammed and believes the latter deserve the coach of the year accolade.
“I think he deserves the [coach of the year] award even if he couldn’t win the league, together with his assistant Hamza Mohammed. Evans Adotey of Karela and Anor Walker of Olympics come next to him,” he said.
With four matches to go, Boadu is well on course to end the club’s 11-year trophy drought.
Hearts are top of the table with 56 point, leveled with Asante Kotoko. Both clubs will meet at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in a game which proves to be the decider for the league title.
