President and Bankroller of Ghana’s Division One League side Asokwa Deportivo, Abdulai Amidu ‘Kamarat’ has vowed for his side after MTNFA Cup round of 16 draw.
The MTNFA Cup Committee with Henry Asante Twum and Yaw Ampofo Ankrah on Tuesday held the draw for the 2020/21 MTN FA cup round of 16 at the office of Maxx TV. Having had sixteen teams qualified from the round of 32 stage, the draw for round 16 was done.
Ghana Premier League giant’s Asante Kotoko SC will host vibrant Asokwa Deportivo at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The giant’s despite showing class and form in both the Premier League and the FA cup are not a threat to Deportivo, according to Kamarat.
Speaking to Ashh FM reporter Akakpo Agodji Kakai after the draw, he said they wished to have faced the Porcupine Warriors at the grand finale but all the same are ready for their test.They[Asante Kotoko SC] should bring it on, they are not scared at all.
“We have been informed of facing Asante Kotoko in the round of 16 of the FA cup. The draw was done today and I must say is a normal game”.
“We would have wished not to play Asante Kotoko at this stage, we will have appreciate to meet them in the finals but that is not to say we are afraid”We have to play now because the draw says so”.
“Asokwa Deportivo is not scared of Kotoko not at all because football is always full of uncertainty”We are not afraid of them”.
He added; “Our first target is to reach semi-finals of the MTNFA Cup, the team is still on course for it”.
