Ghana’s Lower Division side Phar Rangers has responded to the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee charges against them regarding their decision to rescind from all GFA competitions.
On exactly June 9, 2021 the Second tier side wrote to the Football Association to withdraw from the Division One League and all competitions of the association following series of unpleasant scenes against the team in their campaign. Though, the management of the club wrote to rescind their earlier decision to step out of the ongoing 2020/21 league campaign but faced the wrath of the GFA Disciplinary Committee.
On Wednesday the Association released the verdict for their decision to withdraw from it’s Constitution in accordance with article of the Division One League regulations.
The club with it’s Management and Board of Directors of which Asante Kotoko SC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nana Yaw Amponsah is part have been banned from all football related activities for 5-years. Taking effect from the 2020/21 Ghana League season.
However, the club with it Administrative Manager Hamid Saaka believe they are not guilty of the charges leveled against them, asuch will make an appeal.
“We[Phar Rangers] refer to the charge sheet from the GFA dated June 8, 2021 and received by the club on June 9, 2021 at 15:04hrs”.
“Kindly be informed that the club pleads NOT GUILTY to the charges and wish to avert your mind to a letter sent to the GFA on June 9, 2021 11:42 am indicating its position to rescind the decision to withdraw from all GFA Competitions. It is imperative to note that the letter was sent before the charge sheet was sent, unless the GFA is ignoring the letter to rescind our decision”.
“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to repeat that the club has rescinded its decision to withdraw from all GFA Competitions.
We standby for any further directive on this matter”, he concluded in a release letter.
