Aduana Stars managed to escape with a narrow victory over struggling Ashanti Gold Sporting Club on Monday after their game was rained off.

The Ogya Boys with a late minute goal from Emmanuel Osei Baffour run away with a vital home win propelling them to a respectable position on the Ghana Premier League table.

The match day 32 clash between the Ogya Boys and the Miners turned to a football war zone when both teams failed to hit a shot at target in the first 16 minutes having lacked precision and accuracy. Ashanti Gold SC shot stopper Dennis Votere was tested with series of long range shot after the homers have settled down.

Goalkeeper Dennis Votere with a superb one on one save on the 20th minute mark denied Aduana Stars taking the lead.

Stephen Owusu Banahene came close to breaking the deadlock but had his power dealt by Joseph Esso.

Both teams made serious of dangerous attacks, however comfort and execution ability fell short for the teams as they went to break with the virginity of the game intact.

It remained goalless at the break.

After recess, the home team showed glimpses of stunning the travellers with a win. An hour passed with no goal for either side but beautiful display was not denied at the Nana Agyemang Badu park.

Skilful Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Osei Baffour surprisedly gave the homers the deserving opener having made a step into the last 15′ minutes of the game.

Amos Addai paved way for Yaw Annor as the visitors were in search of an equalizer but all his efforts having studied from bench went invain after failing to respond to them.

Baffour’s screamer made the only difference at the NAB park with Aduana Stars now pushed to the 6th position on the league log with 49 points.

Ashanti Gold SC are unmoved at the 9th position ahead of their next Premier League fixtures.
