Great Olympics midfielder James Akaminko believe he has dip in form after staying off the pitch for quite long.
The former Ashanti Gold and Black Stars B combat midfielder is yet to exhibit his true identity of Akaminko since joining Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics. He inked a two year contract with the Capital based side as a free agent having ended his contract prematurely with Tunisian club US Tataouine.
Since joining the Dade Boys in the second transfer window has featured several games helping the team climb the top five.
However, the 26-year old workaholic midfield believe he needed time to familiarize with the environment before picking up from where he left. Asuch, the reason behind his slow start for Great Olympics.
In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com Akaminko said, though he is working hard week after week to help Great Olympics but that can not be compared to what he produced during the days with Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC.
“I’m not yet up there comparing my days with Ashanti Gold SC and now my form with Great Olympics”Am gradually picking it, definitely change of environment and club you will need to take time to get your best”.
“I have being training excessively to get my best for the team”.
“It’s normal for every player especially when you sit away for a longer period without much field work but I will soon be up there for Great Olympics”, James Akaminko said.
When asked about Great Olympics target for the season he said;
“To finish among the best four teams in the league this season will be a big achievement, because it’s being so long Great Olympics came to the limelight”So, to end the season with such slot, will be a well deserving one”.
“Because, a team like Great Olympics needs to always be at the top”We will be excited to stay in the top four this season”.
James Akaminko is the Junior brother of ex-Black Stars player Jerry Akaminko.
