Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Sarkodie has been ruled out for the rest of the 2020/21 season with a knee injury.
The 25-year-old was unavailable for Tuesday’s FA Cup round of 16 visit of Asokwa Deportivo and will be sidelined for the two remaining games of the Ghana Premier League.
Sarkodie picked up the injury at Adako Jachie as they rounded up preparations for the Deportivo clash and now the development has put paid to his chances of making any further participation in his first season at the club.
Sarkodie, unfortunately, will be out for the rest of the season”, Mariano Barreto tells asantekotoko.com after training on Thursday.
“He is out with a knee injury which occurred here in training and the doctors are working to ascertain the degree of it. But, what is assured is that he will not play any more part this season.”
He has made eleven appearances in the league this season so far for the Reds with nine starts and has contributed to 2 goals ( 2 assists).
