French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of defender Sergio Ramos.
Ramos joins PSG on a free transfer following his departure from Spanish giants Real Madrid. The Spaniard, who left the Los Blancos at the end of last season has signed a two-year contract with the French club.
“I am very happy to join PSG. It’s a big change in my life, a new challenge, and a day I will never forget. I am proud to be part of this very ambitious project, to join a team with great players,” said the former Real Madrid defender.
PSG chairman and CEO Nasser AL-Khelaifi was also delighted after the club secured the services of the Spaniard.
“Today, Paris welcomes one of the greatest players of our era. We are delighted to announce that Sergio has joined us,” he said.
“Sergio is a complete footballer, one of the best defenders in the history of the game. He is a born competitor, a leader, and a true professional. His vast experience and ambition are in perfect synergy with those of the club. I am proud to see him in a PSG jersey and I know our supporters will reserve a fantastic welcome for him.”
The 35-year-old will continue to wear the No. 4 shirt with PSG.
