MTN FA CUP: Meet all qualified teams for the quarter-finals

The 2020/2021 domestic league cup round of 16 stage ended on Thursday, June 7 as Berekum Chelsea edged out Kintampo FC on penalties.

The Ghana Premier League(GPL) side progressed 5-3 on penalties after the game ended one all in regulation time.

Hence, the next round is set after 8 teams made it through to the quarter-finals after the matches in midweek.

GPL has the most representatives with 6 clubs whilst two others are from the third tier division.

Tuesday

Defending champions, Asante Kotoko started the round on Tuesday as they beat city rivals Asokwa Deportivo 2-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.

Wednesday

Accra Young Wise fell to Accra Hearts of Ok at a neutral venue, Theater of Dreams Dawu, where the Phobians piped the Division One side to advance into the last 8.

In Tarkwa, it was all GPL affaire as Medeam SC progressed at the expense of Great Olympics FC 5-3 on penalties after the game saw no goal in 90 minutes.

Attram Di-Visser Academy shocked Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium, beating the latter 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.

Elmina Sharks despite their poor form in the Ghanaian top-flight managed 1-1 draw in full time before eliminating Tema Youth 3-2 on penalties.

Kintampo Top Talents FC beat second tier side Tamale City, 3-2 to qualify to the quarterfinals for the first time.

Ashanti Gold record a big win against Aduana Stars in Dorma, beating the Green and Yellows 4-2 to book a place in the last 8.

Thursday

Berekum Chelsea and Kintampo FC wrapped up the round on Thursday with the former making it into the quarterfinals via penalties.
