Italy has been crowned Euro 2020 Champions after beating England 3-2 on post-match penalties following a 1-1 draw in regular time.
England came into the game with the home advantage and it looked as if the night was going to belong for Italy after Luke Shaw had put the Three Lions after just two minutes; a lead they were to hold on to until the halftime break.
The Three Lions had a strong shout for a penalty in the opening exchanges, but Raheem Sterling’s protestations were waved away.
While England was holding, the Italians kept on knocking and were rewarded for their efforts in the 67th minute when Leonardo Bonucci pounced on a loose ball in the English defence to tap home from close range.
After a tough test that was not to produce any goals, Andrea Belotti was the first to miss for Italy as Harry Kane and Maguire scored in the penalty shootout.
Marcus Rashford then hit the post as he tried to outsmart Donnarumma and the Milan goalkeeper then saved from Jadon Sancho. Bukayo Saka was the unlucky man though, as his spot-kick was saved to win Italy the title.
