Accra Hearts of Oak captain Fatawu Mohammed lifted the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League trophy to mark the club’s first top-flight triumph for 11 years. The Accra-based club finished at the top of the standings with 61 points from 34 matches ahead of closest rivals Asante Kotoko
Accra Hearts Of Oak were confirmed as champons on 11th June with a game to spare, when nearest rivals Asante Kotoko lost at Bechem United 2-1, but they had to wait until their final away game of the season to be presented with the trophy.
They did so in front of their families, supporters who were given special permission to attend the trophy presentation.
“We’ve been waiting a long time, Walking up there was amazing, the lads deserved the moment and thankfully the families supporters, management of the team, MD and everyone.” Said Fafawu Mohammed.
