Bankroller of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Grusah, says God has shamed city rivals, Asante Kotoko SC after his side avoided relegation on final day of the season.
According to Grusah, Kotoko wanted to play match of convenience with Elmina Sharks hence a defeat for Faisal against Liberty would send the ‘Insha Allah’ lads to the second tier.
The Greens, however, managed a goalless draw with Liberty Professionals to maintain top-flight football for next season while the Reds lost to Sharks in Obuasi.
In an interview with Asempa FM, the veteran football administrator said God has fought the fight for him with Asante Kotoko missing out on the league trophy and Faisal surviving in the league.
“They are ashamed. God has put them to shame. He has shamed Kotoko, they couldn’t win the league and wanted King Faisal relegated but that didn’t happen. They can do whatever they want but our motto is ‘Insha Allah’ in God’s will we will win. We don’t win by other means it’s by God’s grace that we win matches.”
“I heard rumours making rounds that Kotoko wanted to play a match of convenience with Elmina Sharks so in an event that we lose to Liberty Professionals we suffer relegation but that did not happen. God has shamed them,”
The Porcupines placed second on the table, four points behind arch rivals Hearts of Oak who won the league with 61 points.
