Asante Kotoko SC manager, Mariano Barreto has admitted that his team had a poor run the latter stage of the season.
The Porcupines failed to pick a win their final four games of the term, losing three of them.
Kotoko concluded the 2020/2021 campaign in a 1-0 loss to Elmina Sharks at Len Clay Sports Stadium last Sunday.
Following the defeat, Barreto expressed his disappointed at post match.
“Today we should have made something we didn’t make after Hearts of Oak match.
“The last three matches was very bad and we put everything in to try and win this match because we knew that the league was over and nothing will change regarding the position.
“But it was something regarding what we have to do for our fans and for ourselves and we did not. I’m very very disappointed.”
Asante Kotoko despite their bad streak secured second place on the table and were awarded GHC 150,000 as price money for their effort.
The team has missed out on CAF Champions League football next season but could earn a spot in the Confederations Cup if they manage to win the MTN FA Cup, which the Reds are in the quarterfinals.
