Veteran Football Administrator, Alhaji Karim Grusah says insufficient funds to run clubs has given rise to match fixing in the local league.
Trending video from Ashanti Gold and International Allies Ghana Premier League(GPL) game last Saturday, showed how the latter considered questionable 5 goals and scored 2 own goals.
The said video had caused an uproar by local football fans and raised concerns of the encounter been fixed.
The Ghana Football Association(GFA) reacted with a release stating that investigations are underway regarding the game that ended 7-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Grusah speaking with ghanasportspage said the raising issues of match fixing is as a result of poverty.
“It’s because of poverty and GFA are also not vigilant enough.”
The King Faisal bank roller added that the viral video will go a long way of affecting Ghana Football and valuation of players in the local league.
“It will affect Ghana Football as a whole. Our players’ value will reduce.”
