Hearts of Oak are expected to complete the signing of WAFA midfielder Enock Esubonteng in the next few days despite top European clubs showing interest, according to local reports.
As Samuel Boadu begins plans to build a strong team to represent Ghana in Africa next season, the central midfield has emerged as a position that the former Medeama gaffer is looking to strengthen, the Phobians having been strongly linked with moves for Gladson Awako and Felix Annan in recent weeks.
The 20-year-old recorded 4 goals, 3 assists, 1 man of the match award in the just ended 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season, helping the Sogakope based side to a record third-place finish.
Though WAFA are yet to accept the bid, talks are far advance as both clubs are on the verge of striking a deal for the talented midfielder with the Phobians and the player agreeing on personal terms.
“I am delighted to have helped my team secure a top 4 finish and we had to do it against the champions Accra hearts of oak. I am also glad everyone was here to see the kind of player I am and what I bring to the table.” When Enock Esubonteng was asked by media men about his proposed move to Hearts of Oak after WAFA beat the Phobians in their last league match in Sogakope.
