Ashanti Gold SC has refused to release their five players invited by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Investigation Team for probing regarding allegations of the Miners involved in match-fixing with Inter Allies.
Ashanti Gold beat Allies 7-0 on the last day of the recently ended Ghana Premier League (GPL) season with the latter conceding questionable goals and scoring two deliberate own goals on top of it.
The Football Governing body has put the game under scrutiny by inviting the players who were involved in the said game bit by bit for probing as part of the investigations.
The five players who were due to appear before the investigation team include, Amos Addai, Amos Kofi Nkrumah, Owusu Banahene, Eric Esso and Poku Agyemang.
However, after the first batch of Ashanti Gold players honoured the invitation weeks ago, the club has declined the second invitation as the team prepare for their MTN FA Cup final.
”These players are an integral part of our team so we have requested they reschedule the meeting so we concentrate on the FA Cup Finals” Eric Karikari Ashgold PRO told Oyerepa FM
The Miners engage GPL Champions Hearts of Oak SC in what will be an intriguing FA Cup final at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
