The competition’s record champions have set another astonishing feat by qualifying for a 20th MTN FA Cup finals- more than any other club in the history of the league cup.
Hearts of Oak just like their opponent in the final, Ashanti Gold, the Phobians have had a remarkable adventure scoring 14 goals throughout the knockout stages while having the best defence, conceding just one goal.
The Rainbow side despite being the record-holders last won the trophy in 2000, which is 21 years now.
Meanwhile, they are into their second consecutive finals after a Saddick Adams hat-trick in Tamale shut their dreams of lifting the trophy in 2017 when they were 3-1 losers to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.
Hearts of Oak this time doesn’t not only have the chance to make it up for the 2017 loss to and Ashanti side but also to win a sixth domestic double which will be the most by any Ghanaian club.
The Phobians have already won the 20/21 Ghana Premier League title. Hence, grabbing the double is certainly the ultimate priority for Samuel Boadu’s men.
Here is a quick recap of Hearts of Oak path to the finals.
