The Ghana international suffered an ankle injury in the first-half of the Gunners’ 2-1 pre-season defeat at the hands of Chelsea on Sunday afternoon
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey limped off in the first half at Emirates Stadium, and Mikel Arteta was asked for the latest on our No 5 after the game. According to Arsenal’s official social media page on Twitter, the team managers have checked in with the medical team ahead of Sunday’s MIND Series friendly match with Tottenham Hotspur.
Thomas sustained an injury to ligaments in his right ankle during the friendly match against Chelsea last Sunday. Thomas continues to be assessed and is expected to be back in training in approximately three weeks. This is really not good news for the Gunners.
Partey will miss Arsenal’s opening games of the season against Brentford and Chelsea.
