Asante Kotoko are reportedly ready to resume their pursuit of Ashantigold winger Yaw Annor, though no official bid has been sent to the Miners.
Reports claim that the Porcupines have revived their former interest in making a move for Yaw Annor ahead of the new season.
Annor has become Ashantigold’s talisman this season. The former Bechem United man has developed into one of the best wingers in the Premier League since his move.
The 23-year-old played a key role in leading the club to the final of the MTN FA Cup where they lost on penalties to Hearts of Oak last Sunday and a ninth place in the Premier League table.
Kotoko were heavily linked with a move for Yaw Annor before the commencement of the 2020-21 football season, but the deal failed to go through after Manhyia placed an embargo on the club’s transfer.
In an interview with a Ezra FM after the failed move, Annor said he is available for a future move to Asante Kotoko after his initial move hit a snug and revealed what accounted for the breakdown in negotiations.
“I don’t talk much about my unsuccessful deal to Kotoko. After the formation of the new board, Otumfour told the leaders of the team not to make any signing(s) for at least one year. That announcement made things complicated and the deal eventually failed to materialize and I joined AshGold”. he said.
However, the speedster did not rule out a move to Kotoko after the first deal failed.
“For now, I’m an Ashgold player and I’m concentrating fully at the club, but my doors are opened to Kotoko, don’t forget football is a profession.”
Annor scored 8 goals in 22 games in the just ended Ghana Premier League for the Obuasi based team.
