Ghana President Nana Akuffo-Addo has rewarded Ghana’s contingent with $150,000 for an impressive performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games.
Although boxer Samuel Takyi won Ghana’s only medal-bronze, it was quite an overall good display by the athletes with literally every one of them making their debuts.
Upon a visit to the Presidency on Friday, August 20, Nana Addo announced that each member which includes athletes and coaches will pocket $ 5,000 as bonuses which add up to $150,000.
Boxer Takyi had the best reward from the President who announced that the former will receive a car and $30,000 for winning Ghana the first Olympic medal in 29 years.
‘The Golden Ring Warrior’ will have $10,000 in cash while the remaining $20,000 will be deposited in a sports development fund for his career.
