Gladson Awako rejected an offer from Tanzanian giants Young Africans’ and other clubs to sign for Hearts of Oak, Yusif Chibsah reveals.
According to Chibsah who’s the agent of the player, there were offers from other clubs from Africa and Europe who were keen to sign the 30-year-old from Great Olympics.
However, the Black Stars midfielder opted to stay in Ghana and stay close to his family and be part of his new born baby’s growth.
“Awako wanted to join Hearts of Oak. There were offers from foreign clubs for him but he had his own reasons. He has a baby who is less than a year old and he wanted to stay close to the family,” he told Bright Kankam Boadu on Pure FM.
Awako is the most decorated footballer in the current Ghanaian domestic scene after winning the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Super Cup with the DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.
Meanwhile, Awako has already commence training with the phobians as they prepare for the first game of the CAF champions league in Guinea.
