Black Stars Head Coach, Charles Kwabla Akonnor has prioritised a win over Ethiopia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday, September 3.
The four-times AFCON champions will commence a quest for a fourth appearance at the World Cup in an opening Group G encounter against the ‘Walias’ at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game tomorrow, Akonnor said he is all about a win with no intended scoreline.
“Yeah, we want to win. Football is now evolving and you can not just get up and say 5-0, 2-0, I’m sure that’s what you want to hear and I won’t be able to tell you that. What matters most is for us to win this match and that’s all.”
“This is a world cup qualifier and it is six matches and by the sixth match, we want to be on top which means that we have to be focused…We want to be focused and start very very well and I trust my boys that they will deliver because it’s about time and we want to do well.” He added
The game is set at 7PM kickoff time.
