Two times AFCON winner Rev. Osei Kofi has explained why some coaches are not performing during their duties at the Black Stars of Ghana.
Ghana’s performance against Ethiopia on last Friday did not impress many Ghanaians though winning the game with one goal scored by Mubarak Wakaso from a long range.
Ghana are set to play South Africa today in FNB Sports stadium in South Africa in the ongoing qualification games for the next World Cup.
In an interview with Osei Kofi he explained why the current coaches are not performing.
“At our time we were footballers but this guys are football players. We made coaches because were good. All the coaches at that time were from a
club team before they were promoted to the national team as the same as CK Akonnor.
“People were saying the coaches were good but we were good for them to shine. In our game against Ethiopia on last Friday, the opponent played under instructions from their coach but Ghana was playing by what the footballers know not what the coach has taught them.
“Is all a different thing. The Ethiopians were better than us.
“Both the playing body and CK Akonnor are having a problem because they are not performing based on Akonnor’s instructions.
“The one nill was just a gift from God”. He told Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe.
