Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak suffered 1-0 defeat to Togolese champions ASKO de Kara in club friendly on Monday, 6 September 2021, ahead of their upcoming CAF Champions League qualifiers.
A beautiful strike from Magnim Ataba in 32nd minute gave the Togolese side a hard fought win in Lome.
Hearts of Oak despite creating several chances in the game couldn’t find the back of the net .
Patrick Razak should have opened the scoring in the 28th minute but his volley narrowly missed the target after goalkeeper Amen Agbagla dropped a howler.
ASKO de Kara looked confidence afterwards but could not score more goals against the Ghanaian champions.
Hearts of Oak will now return to Ghana to prepare for their CAF Champions League encounter against Guinean side C.I Kamsar despite their current situation in Guinea following the arrest of President Alpha Konde.
