Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder David Ofei has told his former side to maintain their current CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah with more time to do work for the Kumasi-based club.
Kotoko appointed the owner of the Eastern Regional-based club Nana Yaw Amponsah as the CEO of the club after Dr. Kwame Kyei’s administration.
Nana Yaw Amponsah has worked for the club for more than a year but has failed to win both GPL and MTN Cup for the 24 time GPL champions to represent Ghana in CAF competitions come season.
According to the 32-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, Nana Yaw Amponsah has a sound mind to help the club to achieve good things if given a more time.
“I knew Nana Yaw Amponsah as a scout and he developed experience from it. He has a sound mind and good ideas to help the club if there is unity.
“The only thing that will help Kotoko is unity because if they allow themselves for others to interfere in their affairs that’s what brings the team down.
“Nana Yaw can do the work but everything is time. The advice I will give him is that Kotoko don’t have an enough time because is a very big club. They can’t just give you a more time unless a long term deal is agreed with the management for a development but if nothing like this then they need immediate results.
“Kotoko is like Real Madrid, Barcelona and other big clubs in the world. They need the already made.
“I don’t know the ideas of the management and their plans whether is a short term or a long term but everything is about team work.” He told Ghanasportspage.com
