Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak are left sweating over the fitness of a number of their players ahead of the CAF Champions league preliminary round game against Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar.

The two teams will face off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 19 in a one-off game to determine which side advances to the next stage of the CAF prestigious competition.

The Phobians ahead of the game were involved in a friendly encounter against Ghana Premier League new boys Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with the Phobians losing the game 3-2.

Despite recording a second defeat in a matter of days, there were major concerns for Hearts of Oak as three of their players were forced off the field due to injuries.

Robert Addo Sowah and Caleb Amankwah had their time on the pitch cut abruptly over considerably worrisome injury concerns.

Fredrick Ansah Botchway was also subbed off over what appeared to be a relatively minor injury concern.

Kwadwo Obeng Jnr and Gladson Awako were not involved in the game. Obeng Jnr missed out due to an injury he’s nursing from last season, whiles Awako didn’t feature due to malaria.

The medical team of the club will continue to monitor the situation of the players as they hope to have them back on the field for the CAF Champions League preliminary round game against Club industriel de Kamsar.

The game will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the next stage of the competition to face Moroccan champions Wydad Athletic Club.

Meanwhile, the Phobians are also likely to be without the services of Benjamin Afutu as he’s yet to sign a new deal with the club.
