Former Black Stars manager James AKwasi Appiah has said he is ready to help Kumasi Asante Kotoko as an assistant coach but not the Technical Director role.
The management asked him to take the director role but he has told the management that, can’t accept this role but his love for Kotoko is deep, so he is ready to assist any coach who will need his help behind the scene.
Coach AKwasi Appiai has been absent from Ghana football after his departure from the Senior National Soccer Team ‘The Black Stars of Ghana’.
He’s worked with the Kumasi based club as an assistant coach between 1992 and 1995 before working as a head coach from 1995 to1996.
The 61 year old has served both the Black Meteors and the Black Stars as an assistant manager and a head coach before handing it over to CK Akonnor after the 2019 AFCON.
According to report, the coach has revealed that he is ready to serve the GPL giants but not Technical Director role as reported to ghanasportsgape.com.
“Asante Kotoko is in my blood, I would want to help the technical department but I don’t want to be as a full-time. I work with my heart, knowledge but I have already engaged in so many works but I can help as a technical director without taking a salary. Yes, I will work with my darling club Asante Kotoko for free if the coaches give me the needed respect then I’m ready but not on a full time,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
The former Black Stars coach is currently the head coach of ambitious Kenpong Academy which is owned by former Kotoko board member, Kennedy Agyapong.
