Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko SC have tabled contract renewal offer to reliable defender, Ismail Abdul Ganiu, the player’s representatives confirmed to ghanasportspage.com.
Ganiu who has spent three years at the club since his move from Karela United FC in 2018 has few weeks left in his contract.
The player faced an uncertain future with Reds as no offer was submitted to him since talks on a renewal got stalled in May this year.
His current contract is set to expire on 30th October, 2021.
Several reports in the media claim that Ganiu has signed the new deal while others indicates the club has submitted a second offer to the player.
In a chat with his representatives, they confirmed to ghanasportspage.com that a first offer from Kotoko was sent to them this week but they are yet to respond.
Ismail Ganiu is undoubtedly a significant member of the Kotoko squad and will be a huge miss if both parties fail to reach an agreement to extend his stay.
The Black Stars defender was one of the top performers in the league last season, scored 3 goals, kept about 13 clean sheets and also won 4 man-of-the-match awards.
