Mohammed Kudus made his return from injury and was on target for Ajax’s reserve team, Jong Ajax as they defeated Almere City 4-2 at the Yanmar Stadion.
The Ghanaian youngster hasn’t featured for Ajax since the start of the season due to an injury he suffered in preseason.
On his return, he featured for Ajax’s reserve team, Jong Ajax and didn’t look like a player who hasn’t played in a while.
Almere City opened the scoring in the 11th minute of the game through Lance Duijvesttijn.
Mohammed Kudus leveled the score in the 20th minute. The youngster after receiving a pass from Christian Rasmussen fired a low shot from the edge of the box past the goalkeeper.
The Ghanaian international should have doubled the score before the half time break, but goalkeeper Calvin Raatsie made some good saves to deny him.
Kudus was subbed off at half time as Ajax went on win the game 4-2. Max de Waal grabbed a hat trick, with Tijmen Wildeboer grabbing the consolation goal.
Mohammed Kudus’ return will be a big boost for Ajax and especially the Ghana national team who are looking to rescue their hopes of making the 2022 World Cup next month against Zimbabwe in a double header.
