Asante Kotoko SC Assistant Coach, Abdulai Gazale will leave for the United Kingdom today, September 19, 2021, to begin a period of attachment at English Premier League outfit Southampton FC.
The trip is part of the partnership deal firmed up by Asante Kotoko and the English Premier outfit.
Gazale will be accompanied by Communications and Brands Manager David Obeng Nyarko to the United Kingdom later today.
Gazale who possesses CAF Licence A will learn from the Saints’ youth team system and will be understudying Southampton youth team manager Carl Martin and his coaching staff for some weeks as he prepares to take over the yet-to-be formed Asante Kotoko youth team in the next few weeks.
Gaza is expected to land in Ghana before the start of the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League next month.
The Southampton Academy have nurtured players like Gareth Bale of Real Madrid, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, Luke Shaw of Man United, former Liverpool man Adam Lallana, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain among others.
