Gladson Awako has left Hearts of Oak’ camp just weeks after joining the club from bitterest rivals Great Olympics.
Awako joined Hearts of Oak last month on a 2-year deal for a fee reported to be around $15,000.
However, just less than a month of being at the club, the 2009 U-20 World Cup medalist has informed the club’s hierarchy that he cannot play for the club, having missed training in the past few days.
Per reports, the player has divulged that he has been having nightmares since he joined Hearts of Oak and believes the worst could happen to him should he play for the club.
However, according his Accra-based Angel FM sports head, Sadick Adams (Obama) who is close to the player and his management team, Awako has informed him about his decision about three weeks ago and indicated that the representatives of Awako have asked Great Olympics to refund the transfer fee in order for his contract with Hearts of Oak to be terminated.
Sadick Adams further revealed that the former TP Mazember man is ready to refund his financial entitlement to the Phobians.
Hearts are only waiting for Olympics to refund the player’s transfer fee after agreeing to let him go.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will commence their CAF Champions League campaign on Sunday against Club Industriel de Kamsar at the Accra Sports Stadium.
