Ghana Premier League side WAFA SC has bid farewell to former manager Prosper Narteh Ogum who joins Asante Kotoko ahead of the new season.
The 44-year old joins the Porcupines on a two-year deal.
Narteh comes in to replace Mariano Barreto who has been relieved of his duties following misunderstandings with the Kumasi-based club.
Prosper Narteh did an excellent job during his time at WAFA. Narteh joined the club in 2019 and them to a 10th position on the league standings before the season was truncated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
In the 2020-21 season, he guided WAFA to a 3rd place finish in the 2020-21 season, accumulating 56 points last season – the club’s best since they gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League in 2015.
However, WAFA has thanked the gaffer for his dedicated service in his two years at the club and wished him well as he begins a new life at Kotoko.
Before joining WAFA, Narteh in 2013 masterminded the qualification of Elmina Sharks to the Ghana Division One League. He also worked with Ebusua Dwarfs and Karela United.
