The reigning Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions have explained the reason behind star signing Gladson Awako’s absence from the team’s camp.
Hearts of Oak in a statement released on 21st September 2021 cited ‘personal difficulties’ as the cause of the players’ temporal break.
The former Great Olympics midfielder is yet to officially make his debut for the Rainbow side but appeared in two pre-season friendlies before requesting some days off to sort himself out.
The initial report claimed that the Black Stars midfielder has requested contract termination after just three weeks with the club for strange reasons.
Some indicated that the player has complained to his close circles about having nightmares and battling spiritualities and would want to quit playing for the Phobians.
Nonetheless, Hearts of Oak in their release noted that they expect Awako back after he is able to put himself together within the granted break.

The Phobians continue their preparation ahead of the new GPL season and their CAF Champions League group stage play-off tie against Wydad Athletic Club all in next month.
