Soon to be announced Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac, has already begun working as gaffer of the Senior National Team according to Joy news reporter, Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.
Abdulai has reported that the experienced trainer who is set to sign two years deal has been in Ghana since Monday, September 20 and has started working behind the scenes pending his official announcement.
The Ghana Football Association(GFA) following the team’s disappointing defeat to South Africa, axed coach Charles Akunnor earlier this month, setting up a three member committee to look for a replacement.
The committee then settled on Rajevac who is set for a second spell at the Black Stars from all indications after leading Ghana from 2008-2010.
Ghana have a penciled FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe- doubleheader next month with the first leg and second leg set at October 7, and October 12 respectively.
As per FIFA rules, player’s invitations should be sent to respective clubs two weeks prior to the international break.
With the next international break scheduled at the first week of October, Coach ‘Milo’ has therefore begun working on his call ups for his first assignment against the Warriors.
The former Algeria manager enjoyed a successful first spell with Ghana leading the Black Stars to a first AFCON final in 2010 after 18 years and a first-ever quarterfinals appears at the World Cup in South Africa.
Ghana in the qualifies are tied with Ethiopia on the same points- 3 while South Africa led the Group G with a a point difference as Zimbabwe sit at the bottom win zero points.
