Asante Kotoko SC center back, Ismail Abdul Ganiu has agreed to extend his stay with the Reds, according to sports journalist Eugene Adu Opoku of Oyerepa FM.
Ganiu who had less than a month left in his contract have agreed to extend his stay with the Kumasi based outfit by two years.
Asante Kotoko have been in talks with the player since May this year to extend his contract that runs on October 6, 2021. But the negotiations was put to hold with the aim of completing the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
The club reopened talks with Ganiu in September and submitted an offer of GHC 10,000 after the player had demanded fee reported to be around GHC 15,000 as month’s salary without enticement fee.
The Center-back has now lowered his demands and has accepted Kotoko’s offer. Thus, announcement is expected in the coming days.
Ismail Abdul Ganiu is now set for a five years stint with Asante Kotoko after joining in 2018.
