Emmanuel Sarkodie was tipped for greatness after joining Asante Kotoko from Division One League side Nkoranza Warriors.
However, the midfielder has failed to live up to the billing despite winning eight Man of the Match (MoTM) awards in 13 appearances in the truncated Ghana premier league season.
He was expected to play a crucial role for the porcupine warriors in the 2020/21 football season, yet that wasn’t the case as Kotoko finished second behind rivals’ Hearts of Oak.
Asante Kotoko has sent several players on loan, including Emmanuel Sarkodie, as new head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum continue to rebuild ahead of the new season.
Speaking to Pure FM, the midfielder blamed his recurring injuries for his struggles at Asante Kotoko but remains adamant he will return to the side to complete his unfinished business.
According to him, players like Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and teammate Ibrahim Danlad regained their form after spending a season loan away from their respective clubs.
Kotoko is open to discussing possible destinations for the midfielder after making several signings in the last few days.
Sarkodie made 13 league appearances in his debut season with the Porcupine Warriors after joining from Division One side Nkorazna Warriors and registered two assists.
