Asante Kotoko’s new striker Samuel Boateng has said Ahmed Toure is his role model. The young building talent has said he admires former Asante Kotoko and Burkinabe international Ahmed Toure and wants to follow in his footsteps.
“I want to be like Ahmed Toure and even become more powerful than him. He came to worship Asanteman with his good deeds, everyone accepted him and I want to do the same and even more than what he did for Asanteman” Boateng told Asante Kotoko media team.
“For years he has been our best player and the way he played for Asanteman showed how good he was and he always inspired me” he added.
Ahmed Toure is a Burkinabe professional footballer, who currently plays for the Congolese club AS Vita as a striker. He also holds Ivorian nationality.
Boateng joins the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal after successful negotiations.
The striker was one of the standout players for Future Stars Academy, who sealed qualification to the 2021/22 Division One League.
He bagged an impressive 18 goals in 15 appearances in the just ended Division Two League.
