Former Aduana Stars goalkeeper, Stephen Adams is hopeful of a return to the Black Stars squad after the appointment of new head coach Milovan Rajevac.
The expatraite took over from Charles Kwablah Akonnor who was axed after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to South Africa earlier this month.
The Serbian trainer handed Adams his maiden call-up to the Senior National Team in 2010 but failed to make the final squad for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa that year. Hence, he did not have any appearance under Rajevac.
Fast forward to 2014, the then 29-year-old made the final list of the Black Stars for the 2014 world cup in Brazil under coach Kwesi Appiah.
Reacting to Rajevac’s return, Adams said he is optimistic that the man who led Ghana to the AFCON finals and the World Cup quarter-finals- all in 2010 will yet again leave another legacy and maybe hand him a call-up back into the team.
“He is an experienced coach and he has had significant achievements with the National Team before so we are praying he will have another successful tenure.” he told GL Radio
“Because we all want to see the team succeed and we are also national assets or national team players, while we have not retired we can be back with the national team. So, I would say he should do better than what he did during his first spell.” he added
Stephen Adams who is currently free agent have 10 caps with the Black Stars since 2014.
