English Premier League side Aston Villa has confirmed to ZFA that, their star Marvelous Nakamba can play in the World Cup qualifier against Ghana in Harare on October 12 2021 because the midfielder is now fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and he is now available for a doubleheader against Ghana.
Due to Covid-19 traveling restrictions imposed by the Boris Johnson-led UK government, Warriors stars based there could not take part in the previous qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia, as all returnees from countries under the ‘Red List’ are subjected to a mandatory 10-day quarantine but good news for Zimbabwean, their Midfielder Nakamba has been giving the green light to play against Ghana both home and away.
Nakamba is part of Norman’s provisional 24 man squad to face the Black Stars of Ghana. This is a huge boost for the Warriors coach Norman.
Aston Villa boss Smith confirmed to Sky Sports that Nakamba, goalkeeper Emi Martinez and striker Bertrand Traore, can now feature international matches in Argentina, Guinea, and Zimbabwe respectively.
Ghana will take on Zimbabwe on Match Day 3 of the qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports stadium on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 1600Hrs.
The Black Stars currently sit in second place in the Group G table with 3 points following a win against Ethiopia and a defeat to South Africa.
