Former Black Stars Aduana Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams has tipped the Phobian goalkeeper Richard Atta to start over the other goalkeepers in the World Cup qualifiers game against Zimbabwe next week.
Richard Atta contributed a massive performance for Hearts of Oak in the goal post helping the side to win the GPL title and the MTN FA Cup. He had the opportunity to be part of the Black Stars due to his stunning performance but has yet to start for the Ghana national team.
According to the Ex-Aduana Stars goalkeeper, the current Phobia number one should be in the starting lineup for Black Stars against Zimbabwe.
“I would say Richard Atta should start for the team in the current call-up not because he is my friend but checking his current stats he is performing and has started well in the Champions League”
“He is like my junior brother, he always comes to my house and train with me but not because of this I am choosing him to start over the other goalkeepers,” Adams told ghanasportspage.com.
“They were only two keepers who had a stunning performance last season, I mean Richard Atta and the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper who spent last season on loan at Anyinase based Karela United, Richard Baidu. He had an incredible performance for the first time as a Premier League goalkeeper”
“They learn from me whilst walking with them. They are learning from we those have made it before.
“For now Richard Atta is the number one goalkeeper in Ghana. His height, form and everything concerning him count.”
The former Black Stars goalkeeper who spent half of last season told ghanasportspage.com
He is currently free agent and his doors are widely opened for any club.
