Chairman of National Sports Authority (NSA), Patrick Twumasi says the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Club licensing committee’s decision to reject Accra Sports Stadium and Kumasi Sports Stadium is a ‘joke’.
Mr Twum believes the two National stadiums meets global standard for matches.
The Club Licensing have conditionally rejected the two venues during their inspection tour citing few improvement before approval for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The Accra Sports Stadium will be used by Hearts of Oak SC, Great Olympics FC and newcomers Accra Lions FC. Moreover, it also serve as alternative venue for Legon Cities FC and Dreams FC.
Whereas Kumasi Sports Stadium, which has just gone under renovation will serve as home venue for Asante Kotoko SC and King Faisal FC.
“Both Kumasi and Accra stadium is certified and match the global standard for clubs to use” Peter Twumasi told Accra based Angel FM
“Is it not a joke to tell me Accra sports stadium doesn’t meet the criteria to play football match on it? Who will believe this story? He added.
“They inspected the facility without our notice, even CAF which is an international body informed us before inspecting it for Hearts games.” He further explained
