The Porcupine Warriors new skipper has expressed his delight for the honour bestowed him to lead the new era of the club

Asante Kotoko defender Ismail Abdul Ganiu has expressed his excitement following the clubโ€™s decision to name him the new captain ahead of the start of 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

After a series of negotiations that lasted for about four months, Kotoko via their social media handle announced the new deal with the Black Stars defender.

Asante Kotoko and Ganiyu agreed to a two-year contract extension yesterday. The club has confirmed on their Twitter page.

Ghanasportspage.com can confirm that Asante Kotoko SC midfielder, Mudasiru Salifu has been appointed as the first vice-captain of the club who replaces Emmanuel Gyamfi, and also the club appointed their number one spot goalie Razak Abalora as the 3rd captain of the club who is also replacing Wahab Adams.

Asante Kotoko to travel to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to wrap up their pre-season ahead of the forthcoming season today.

The playing body, technical staff, and other senior members of the team will embark on the journey.

The club have confirmed that, the team will depart from Ghana on Thursday, October 7, 2021, and spend two weeks in the gulf country.
