“I’m gonna knock Deontay Wilder Fu** out-Tyson Fury

The motivated former WBC heavyweight champion has worked with his new chief second, Malik Scott, for about a year-and-a-half. That’s more than enough time, according to Fury, for Scott to have tweaked Wilder’s style and better prepared him to face Fury for the third time Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

Fury, after all, expertly implemented a new style that his trainer, Javan “Sugar Hill” Steward, taught him during their first two months working together before his rematch with Wilder in February 2020. The big British star just doesn’t think anything Wilder will do Saturday night can alter the outcome of their ESPN/FOX Sports Pay-Per-View main event.

“I think you could go to college and get a master’s degree in nearly two years,” Fury told Top Rank’s Crystina Poncher during his “grand arrival” Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena. “So, for a boxer to change his style is very easy to do. But no matter what Deontay Wilder does, I’m still gonna knock him the f—- out!”

Poncher promptly asked Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) to predict the round in which he’ll knock out Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs).

“Quick time, quick fashion,” Fury replied. “Like my trainer, ‘Sugar Hill,’ says, ‘We’ll just bang and get it over with.’ ”

The 33-year-old Fury feels more comfortable with Steward than he did for their one-sided rematch 19 months ago at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Steward replaced Fury’s former trainer, Ben Davison, only two months before Fury fought Wilder a second time.

Their third fight has been postponed numerous times, which has enabled Steward and Fury to strengthen their bond and professional partnership.

“Yeah, it’s been good,” Fury said. “You know, we’ve had such a long time in the gym together. We’ve been on holidays, we’ve hung out. We’ve done so much stuff, Crystina. It’s been unbelievable. We chilled out in Vegas for quite a few months. We’ve been training the whole time. Not had the fights, unfortunately, but COVID f—– up the world.”

Fury, who dropped Wilder twice on his way to winning their rematch by seventh-round technical knockout, is listed by Caesars Sportsbook as a 3-1 favorite to defeat Wilder again in their third battle. They’ll headline a four-fight pay-per-view show scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
