Bechem United have confirmed they have agreed and signed a one-year deal with Augustine Okrah from Asante Kotoko as a free agent.
The 28-year-old opted not to extend his stay at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium following the expiration of his contract in July.
Although Okrah was hugely linked with a move to Raja Casablanca and even passed his medical, the deal fell through at the eleventh hour due to issues about his earnings.
ports emerged that another Moroccan club rushed in to sign him on the their transfer deadline day but the forward was bent on returning to Ghana.
Okrah’s agent Francis Addai was offered an opportunity to send him to Ethiopia but the player insisted on rejoining Bechem United since they offer him the siren environment he needs at this time.
Last season, Okrah scored one goal for Kotoko against Legon Cities in the Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium and provided three assists.
Okrah won Ghana Premier League Best Player and topscorer in the 2013/14 season after scoring 16 goals for Bechem.
He has previously had stints with BK Hacken in Sweden, Al Merriekh and Al Hilal in Sudan as well as Smouha FC in Egypt.
Okrah was part of the Ghana squad that finished second in the WAFU Cup of Nations in 2020.
