Legendary Mohammed Polo has commended 17-years old Abdul Fatawu Issahaku for his impressive performance against Zimbabwe in his debut start for the Black Stars on Friday at Cape Coast Stadium.

Fatawu Issahaku who doubled as a midfielder and attacker currently plays for the Division One side Steadfast FC in the Northern Region.

He has been linked with Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and may leave soon for the Primera Liga.

The young man was introduced into the Black Stars after helping the U17 to win the WAFU Zone B tournament and the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations 2021.

Issahaku represented Ghana and served as captain of the national under-17 team in 2020, playing during the 2021 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

During the competition, he played all of the Black Satellites’ matches, scoring two goals in the group stages to help his side win the title for the fourth time in its history. On that occasion, he was also adjudged as the Best Player of the Tournament.

Fatawu Issahaku is capable of shooting from afar to find the back of the net.

He scored a wonderful free-kick against Uzbekistan when the Black stars team B played Uzbekistan at the Markaziy Stadium. Despite 2 – 1 defeat. He won admiration from the football fraternity after the friendly game.

In an interview with ghanasportspage.com Polo claimed “The transformation in the team shall continue especially for using the young federal Fatawu Issahaku. Fatawu’s performance shows clearly that he has control of what he is doing.
